C-Series

Dec. 9, 2020 - If you talk to a few people in the AV industry and ask them about Jupiter's products, you will most likely hear about big, massively robust, insanely resilient and really expensive mission critical video wall processors.

This is both good and bad. On the good side, this is a great baseline to be known by. It shows that there is a deep understanding of customer needs, and a huge commitment to rock solid engineering knowhow. On the bad side however, it means that many people overlook Jupiter for smaller scale applications as they assume that Jupiter is only for big projects. Big scale, big impact, big cost.

In reality though, Jupiter has a variety of different product lines that offer solutions with the same pedigree, but at various sizes and price points. And while they may not have all the same functionality of the Catalyst products, you have the same engineering and the same company standing behind those products.

A great example of this is the C-Series product family. Within the Jupiter products, there are commonalties among features and different families that do and don’t do certain things. One of the biggest divisions between product families is the windows-based and non-windows-based processors.  This is an important differentiator as it can be a huge benefit depending on the needs of the system.  When using a windows-based processor, you have the ability to run native windows applications right on the processor. No external inputs, just open whatever web browsers or applications you need and you are ready to go. As you might imagine, this can greatly reduce the amount of hardware needed. In fact, there are plenty of systems out there where all the inputs can be made up of web browsers, and IP based sources with no physical hardware connections needed at all as far as inputs. Add in our Canvas platform and the flexibility expands exponentially.

It's exactly because of the breadth of systems that have minimal physical input requirements that the C-Series product family exists. It’s a windows-based processor that is fully compatible with Canvas, but has limited configurations. There are six different C-Series models. They all share the same fixed output configuration of 4 x UHD or 8 x HD outputs. And on the input side, the models range from 0 physical inputs, up to 5 x UHD/10 x HD. With these options, you should have no issues finding a model that works for many different systems.

Beyond this, the C-Series has all the same engineering behind it as you would find in a top-of-the-line Catalyst product. You are just working off a smaller fixed configuration. Taking a deeper look at the C-Series solutions will allow you to deliver the world class engineering and reliability that Jupiter brings to the table to even more customers. The C-Series allows you to offer your clients a solution that is engineered for world class mission critical applications, but at a price point that is far more competitive, for a far broader suite of applications.
